A Beatle Birthday!!

Our youngest GREAT nephew just turned one!  He's soooo cute and one very happy baby!

His parents are true Beatles fans..and decided on a Beatles themed birthday.  His Dad created this great banner!

Even the food followed the theme, including "Strawberry Fields Forever."

 "Ob-La-Chips, Ob-Sal-Sa"

Love Love Me Mt. Dew           John Lennon-Ade               Sgt. Dr. Pepper

My Sister-in-Law is sooo clever!

My nephew called to ask if I would make either cookies or cupcakes for the party, which made me one happy auntie!  I remember clearly when the Beatles came to America and was one of the many who watched them on the Ed Sullivan show.  I had Beatles trading cards, albums, and a Beatle favorite...George.  So I decided to make cookies, and enjoyed every minute trying to re-create that "era."

The birthday boy, Crew, had to have a cookie all his own,.  But the rest of the cookies were based on Beatle's songs, like  "Strawberry Fields Forever.

 Love, Love, Me Do

 "Yellow Submarine"

"Octopus's Garden", "Maxwell Silver Hammer", and the Peace Sign can represent a few songs, such as "Let It Be",  "Imagine", etc.

I love this photo. Crew's older brother, Cael, was photographed eating a cookie representing one of his favorite movies.

 Paul, Ringo, GEORGE, and John...

Some of the other songs represented are"  Blackbird", "I want to Hold your Hand", "I am the Walrus",  and "Here Comes the Sun."

Needless to say, I had fun making these cookies.

Happy 1st Birthday Crew!!!

Gobble Goggle Gobble

Yup, it's snowing again!!!!  This makes me sound so old, but this winter reminds me of winters when I was a child...lots of snow angels, sledding, snow ball fights, and a skating rink in the back yard.

Not only have we had lots of snow, but is has been cold, very cold!

Almost 20" of snow in the yard.  That's unusual to have for a such a prolonged time and we received a few more inches last night.  This is nothing compared to the west side of the state with the "Lake Effect," or the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where my brother lives, but it is a lot for mid- Michigan.

I love to look at the animal tracks after a snow fall, you can see where they wander, stop to eat, and lay down.  These tracks look like our two baby deer, now teenagers..they still hang around from time to time.

A couple of days ago, I was working at the computer (client reports..ugh!) which is just inside one of our front windows.  I heard this clicking sound and couldn't figure out where it was coming from.  Suddenly, I looked out the window and saw:

Wild Turkeys!
Here they are running away after I opened the front door to get a better picture.

They are really big birds.

And were gobbling up a storm!

So much fun to watch!

Then I noticed another turkey, but this one looked different!

Was it a turkey?  The abominable snowman?  No, wait, it was my brother!  After a day working in the woods waaaaayyyy up north!  hehehe!

Hope you have a great weekend, stay warm!

Great Scott!

 Happy 27th Birthday Scott!

Be forewarned!  It's my son, Scott's, 27th birthday today, so I decided to celebrate this exciting event (exciting to Scott, his sister, my husband, and myself) by reminiscing with photos of Scott. And yes, being his Mom, every pictures of him is a treasure.  So, I had a terribly hard time cutting down on the choices.  So, I gave up and decided to show many of the ones I love.  Sorry!
